The Ray Birely Big Band, under the direction of Rocky Birely and Kurt Nigh, serving Baltimore, Washington, D.C., Mid-Maryland and Southern Pennsylvania for five decades.
One of the very best Big Bands for ballroom dancing, the 19 piece Ray Birely Big Band features 17 excellent musicians and 2 superb vocalists specializing in the timeless music of the 30's and 40's.
Most of our shows are sell-outs. The Ray Birely Big Band today is still the most sought after big-band in the area. A five minute demo CD and brochure of The Big Band are available upon request. The Ray Birely Big Band offers a great variety of music for galas, dinner dances, wedding receptions, concerts, private parties, etc.
Careful attention is given to playing correct tempos for ballroom dancing. Ballroom dancers love the flow of the music which includes an excellent mix of swing, ballads, waltzes, latin and polkas.
If you desire soft music for cocktails or dinner, prior to or during the early part of your event, our pianist is available as well as our rhythm section (piano, bass, drums and guitar).
